If you are a bug bounty hunter, you may notice that recon is very time consuming. Sometimes, even you have mostly automate your recon, recon might takes days or even weeks if you are hunting on a huge scope. If you use your home workstation, it occupies quite a lot of your workstation’s resources. Also, your work might turns to trash if your power got turned off by your mum or electricity shortage. So, instead of using my own workstation, I normally run these tasks on my VPS on Digital Ocean. This article would walks you through how to setup yours and some tricks to smoothen your automation. So, let’s get start!
Registration and Setup
First step of course is to register an account on Digital Ocean. If you concern about the price matter, you can use this referral link which would give you USD100 credit to be spent in first 60 days. So, don’t worry about your money first. Focus on your hunting first!
Once you registered, you can create a droplet by clicking on top right corner
Then, you may choose your droplet setup. This is normally what I choose when creating a bug hunting box:
